7th November at 11.35am. Update. First, Hermitage Oils website is now closed for the rest of 2023. No more orders are being accepted and all countries have been removed from the website at checkout, to prevent orders from being placed whilst we are off work. Apologies if I sound like a broken record, but politely I have received so many emails asking about placing orders already. I am now putting an out of office message in place on the email and website contact page. As soon as all orders have been delivered - we are then properly off work for the rest of 2023. Sincerely, we need a proper break as the stress of this year has become too great. On a brighter note, the following SDS are now uploaded onto the website and available to clients by logging in to your account and going to the section titled SDS (assuming you have purchased the product) ... Blue Lotus Absolute, Bergamot Mint E.O, Clove Bud Absolute, Apple Liquid, Chamomile Roman E.O, Cognac Green Signature Gold E.O, Costus Root E.O, Eucalyptus Absolute, Cocoa Absolute Signature Gold, Geranium Chinese E.O, Frankincense Rivae E.O, Buddha Wood E.O and Cedarwood Himalayan E.O. The business handling the conversion still needs to hand over about 60 more SDS and as we receive them, they will be uploaded onto the website. Thank you, Adam : )

Adam Michael has this to say ” This marjoram leaf CO2 (Origanum majorana) aka sweet marjoram is a woody perennial herb growing to 50cm with aromatic oval leaves and pinkish-white flowers, it takes an average of 55 kilos of raw material to produce 1 kilo of this Turkish grown stunner. The smell of this CO2 is outstanding, fresh, earthy green, sweet with a slight woody, pine and peppery nuance. So good, so absolutely world class, that we have now officially stopped offering marjoram essential oils as of the 27th June 2020.
Along with wild marjoram which is a bit of a nomenclature nightmare you find both are cultivated for their aerial parts and their essential oils. Marjoram leaf CO2 is considered as a highly valuable stimulant and antispasmodic. It can help relieve anxiety and headaches, and is useful for flatulence, colic and respiratory problems and has a stronger effect on the nervous system than wild marjoram.”

This is a 1ml little treasure I keep all to myself and I wish I’d ordered more before it sold out. In aromatherapy it tends to get forgotten about due to all the other fab knock out herbs.
To me it’s a beauty, understated, I find it very meditative – an aromatherapy tutor once said to me it helps those that can’t stop talking from talking, for me it helps reach a place of quiet solitude & stops my mind from racing, very grounding and peaceful and gently uplifting!
The CO2 is delicate fresh, interesting herbal, like a gingery mint, a little patchouli without being patchouli, heather flower, honey, gentle baking spices like nutmeg & all spice, pink pepper, I think a little mitti attar – clay/sandalwood, light vetiver! It feels full of heart! Quietly joyful!

A very spicy scent. Strong and dominant with a little menthol. For me it is a typical masculine fragrance.

I have been buying this CO2 from Hermitage for years, and continue to find new applications for its soothing spirit. At minute amounts, this will incorporate into both green and floral compositions while retaining its benevolent nature that nurtures the soul while delighting the nose.

A warm, smooth, sweetly-spiced and deeply pungent Marjoram. Instantly calming – it quietens the mind and brings about, at the same time, a dawning surprise at all the hitherto undiscovered nuances it holds. The humble marjoram hums with musty herbal mint, spearmint, herbaceous green, lavandin and woody herbal notes, also a little spicy and fruity in the dry-down; and all held together on a musty green minty herbal earth bed.
There is much to discover within its layers. It is also deeply nurturing and grounding. Ever so beautiful, I love to wear this on its own.

What a lovely herbal fragrance.
Another of my Top 25 picks on this site…this CO2 extract is sophisticated, fancy…a little bit goes a long way. This substance has the potential to overpower a composition, so moderation is key. I use this Marjoram sparingly to add a layer of herbal complexity to a mixture…this multi-faceted, beautiful substance was made to be used in perfume.
