25th March at 13.10pm: Apologies but my health has gone backwards rapidly in the past few days. After a conversation with Eleonora, at this moment running Hermitage is too much for us. Therefore the countries have all been temporarily removed and no orders can be placed. Please note orders received upto the time of this message will all be dispatched by today. Earlier messages now deleted from the orange banner but note I hope by mid to late next week I can get involved again with the business and reopen the website to E.U countries. New product releases, I have written content for five new aromatics and the plan was, and still is, to get to ten, and release them all in one lot. This will happen across early April. At the sametime the lab is finished, we have set up and we will get staff employed. Written as my own objective this year for the business remains the same, that being to end the stop start and get Hermitage in a position whereby it continues to flourish with or without my daily involvement. Thank you, Adam : | PS - We will reply to emails we may receive upon our return.

Adam Michael has this to say “Wow, this is such an improvement on the many regular poplar buds absolute materials I have smelled over the past years and this is much easier to work with as well. This material is obtained first by solvent extraction of the poplar buds then molecular distilled without solvents resulting in this soluble absolute.
This material is mobile, lemon curd yellow in colour and the aroma is described by the producer as fruity-apricot, flowery-osmanthus, woody, leathery, liqueur-like davana notes with prune and fig undertones. Useful in floral bouquets, oriental, fruity and leather notes.”
Botanical Name: Populus nigra
Origin: France

Very fixative, sweet honeyed, and lucious.

Smells exactly like the result you get from infusing poplar buds in oil. It’s the true scent of poplar buds. Sweet and balsamic with the faintest trace of honey and benzoin. I also smell faint traces of apricot and osmanthus that Adam mentions. Mouthwatering material. Gently heating is ideal for working with the viscous liquid.

Wow! This is a scent to bow before, it is luxurious, rich, complex. I cannot get enough of its bitter-sweet, balsamic quality. It is a must-have for perfumers working on leather-bases. It is a magic modifier of lavender, rosemary and other herbs. I also get an olive-like oiliness on jasmines and other florals. At times, it offers a boozy or syrupy quality that is unexpected. Truly marvellous!

Mmm, such a beautiful floral/fruity, happy smell. This would be an excellent note in a sophisticated feminine floral formula, vaguely reminiscent of magnolia in its elegance.
I had no idea that poplar buds could smell so amazing…
