Adam Michael has this to say “Sudachi essential oil is a citrus aromatic with a big personality. The immediate opening (07.07.25) reminds me of freshly squeezed limes, comparable to that air saturating hit of zest scented lime mist that floods the air when preparing mojitos. I also get hits in the immediate opening of Tab soda, lemon sherbets, plasticine and crushed yuzu leaves. If you really pay attention and move all of that scented noise to the side, there is also a cuminic spiced tinge that can be perceived as sweaty. I do register this, but only if I am really looking for it.
As the opening evolves I pick out woody traces, both as in the sensation you experience when inhaling all of a citrus plant – both within the crushed leaves and also from the scent the branches and twiglets emit. And somehow I also pick out sandalwood and creamy siam woody traces too infused within a a citrus floral concoction. This is a truly beautiful citrus with layers and substance galore. That trace cuminic quality may seem insignificant, but it seemingly turns this citrus into a techno coloured masterpiece for the senses.
Clear to watery emerald green in colour subject to volume or weight. Distilled material from the peel, of a pourable water esq viscosity and 14 hours of performance on the strip. Highly recommended to those who want a citrus experience with a twist.”

Zesty! Makrut lime, cedrat, ginger candy, a hint of timur pepper. Juicy and sparkling. Subtle magnolia leaf-amyris drydown. My first impulses are to blend with civet, Haitian vetiver, aldehyde C-8, geosmin/mitti, neroli, green sacra and/or any number of other citrus and petitgrain materials. Amazing potential as a material for bridging citrus notes into the heart, while also deserving the spotlight. Will be fantastic in the diffuser too I’m sure! I love it and will order a larger quantity soon!

Theres a citrus aspect that reminds me of orangsicles, that fizzy feeling. In fact, lets go further and say its fizzy like sour gummy worms are!
The smell of sports sections is much lesser than the Yuzu. Instead, I’m thinking Cherry Limeade from Sonic! Candied sweetness galore :D! Easily a better replacement for me than the Mexican Distilled lime to really hit the Orient theme much more. This material is comparable to something else, but I’m really at a loss, if someone else could review it, it might jog my memory a bit. Is it food? Is it Gasoline? lol!

‘Anything you can do I can do better’ sings the green Sudachi boastfully – an iconic fruit of the Shikoku island’s humid subtropics – to all its Citrus relatives as Limes, Lemons and Bitter Oranges, of Japan and of any other Citrus land: everything about this centuries-old’ hybrid of Yuzu and bitter Mandarine is a bit ‘more’ – more together, more suave and pleasing, more juicy, more complex, more nuanced.
In comparison to the standard Yuzu, Sudachi is more of a sophisitcated gourmand delicacy, with the bitter and acrid edges smoothed out as well as the added gentle sweeteness to its sour features – in comparison to Lemons. As such, Sudachi is a beautiful, well-mannered and oh-so-easy-to-love companion to Bergamot and Cedrat, perfumery-wise.
