Eleonora Scalseggi has this to say “This Bulgarian rose concrete is very different in aroma profile from the dewy pink petals notes of our Turkish rose concrete. This sumptuous Bulgarian material goes more into the direction of a velvety red rose, voluptuously spicy-floral, very rich and deliciously honey-sweet, with the colour and appearance of a delectable rosehip jam.
Solvent extracted from fresh Bulgarian roses, this concrete has a very good rose absolute content (above 60%) and a softly waxy consistency that goes pourable with very little warmth, literally melting under your fingers into a luxuriously velvety balm.
Invaluable for making solid perfumes and cosmetics where it can lend all of its sweet rosy richness, this Bulgarian rose concrete can also be used in alcohol-based products, but in this case the perfume will definitely require filtration since the floral waxes naturally contained in the concrete will not dissolve in alcohol.
A beautiful addition not only to any rose based and floral accords, but also for imparting grace and naturalness in virtually any composition, where it will bring out the best of the other notes whilst rounding the sharp edges of even the harshest smelling perfume ingredients.”

I want to tell you about my love for this Rose concrete from Bulgaria.
But describing aroma is indeed a challenge I find, and Adam and Eleonora will without doubt be much better ambassadors than me in this endeavor.
Never the less I’m in love.
This concrete has a deep, earthy presence. Mature ‘mama like’ – if a rose could be. Or the term goddess, or regal might be more befitting.
The fragrance is very comforting and sumptuous, sucking you into it’s warm embrace – oozing sexy, sultry, velvety beauty! And it is darker and deeper than any other rose oil I have ever smelled. It is simply gorgeous!
It works perfectly for me as I make solid perfume, and I really like the waxiness and physical concreteness of it, making it more real somehow, and fun to work with. I also have the Turkish rose concrete Hermitage is offering – which I also truly love, but for other reasons. The two being very different.
You simply have to have them both!

A complete rose profile w/o leaning too far in any direction. Has sweetness, greeness, full body rose aroma. Persistent on skin, lasts for hours. Will be very easy to put into formula.
The drydown is peppery, but it is a long time to dry down. I feel this is a very good purchase because the quality is high, and the price is very good. There are no off notes or wandering off with this aroma, stays very true. The profile is overall lifelike and fresh.

I’m very impressed by the different subtle aspects of rose showcased in this concrete. It gives something the absolutes do mot. A freshness? A more true to life experience? A longer dry down due to the waxes? I’m not sure and I don’t really care I just know this is giving something ‘extra’ although I can’t put my finger on it!
