Eleonora Scalseggi has this to say “Choosing the right coffee material can be tricky. The first thought could be working with the absolute, which is alcohol soluble and gorgeous in aroma but very pricey. Then we might think of the CO2 extract, more affordable and still with the warm aroma of roasted coffee but often soluble in oil only (like our classic Total Coffee CO2 extract). Now we have found this new Coffee CO2 Select extract, that has all the kick of a robust espresso along with good tenacity and perfect alcohol solubility. And it’s food grade too!
Aromatically it’s a very dark material, with strong notes of roasted coffee and burnt tobacco undertones. Highly fragrant and with a very decided character, with a little imagination it can work far beyond gourmand accords, pairing spectacularly with florals and blending seamlessly with tobacco and vetivers but also spices and resins materials.”
Botanical Name: Coffea arabica

Best coffee I have ever smelled and 100% alcohol soluble! Now I need to go pour myself a cup. Buy this! You will not regret it.

Yes, exactly! This is it! In two years I have ithis (can not bear to use it all) the scent turned even darker, bitterer, more tobaccoey, whereas before it was slightly more playful and sweet, sugary even (I could almost taste tiny coffee flavoured sugar crystals – if that makes sense at all).

I have this wonderful product for a couple of months now and I still have to use it in a blend like it just recently did with Cocoa Colourless Abs. (great stuff also).
Opening the cap of the bottle and smelling already is a lovely experience sensing the odor of freshly ‘Barista’ made coffee.
I think this is a must have for the natural perfumer if blended with the right oils.

Barista officionados beware. This extract can overpower, but, beautifully, like a cafetiere sitting bubbling on an Italian country stove. Love this but it’s presence is not easy to put in the corner

I love this stuff, it’s like waking up to the real things, without having to wait for it to cool down! I enjoy combining this with hyrax to deepen the mix, or with citruses to make an Italian proud.

This is one of those materials I thought Id like, but hardly use as im not a coffee drinker.
How wrong I was! This has been a big part of some of my favourite blends and absolutely love trying it with a little Lavender, Seville.

It is like smelling pure coffee beans, just after they have been roasted and grined. Maybe it is not the strongest/most intense scent (it is not weak either!), but whoever seeks the scent of a perfectly prepared coffee would certainly appreciate this material.
