Adam Michael has this to say “This fir balsam absolute signature is wonderfully bright, intense and powerful from the word go, displaying a selection of jammy, fruity-berry qualities in the opening, combined with a sun charged rich resinous vibe and finished with palette balancing woody tonalities.
The more you evaluate, the more it feels like a smorgasbord of different resinous trees, especially Cypresses and Black Pines, lots of woodland, all of the various plant life that grows on the woodland floor, all of the humidity, all of that soul and charm captured and displayed within these beautiful woody notes. The fir needle foliage aspects are also abundantly present, displaying piercingly fresh woody-green aspects throughout.
The fruity character comprises in my view of perfectly ripe red raspberries in the summer, full of sweet refreshing juice, really child-like, fun and innocent. I also clearly detect blackcurrants that make for a slightly tarter experience but with the sweetness of the raspberry notes it again results in a perfect combo, and still retains this fun childlike experience without becoming sickly sweet.
A stunning chocolate brown coloured material that is of an almost solid consistency, produced from the resin, and of which will require bain-marie to get this into a pourable state. Completely alcohol soluble, and it seems to have no issues diluting into both TEC and DPG as well.
As for uses, a must for building forest floor through to Mediterranean scrub accords, Christmas themes, pairs especially well with pine needle aromatics, oakmoss, labdanum, and even in trace amounts can enhance rose creations with its warm-fruit-jammy qualities. Highly recommended.”

I love for balsam. This is a beautiful version.
Warmth is the lead note, a summer campfire on a slightly cool summer night. This has a green dimension, that opens it up , and then the sweetness seeps in. It is a very comforting experience.
This could be gourmand , or woods , or floral.
It will add richness and depth to the sweetness, it will warm and expand the blend.
Fir balsam is mellow but can be diluted to great effect.
My other version is sweeter- and I thought that was perfect- but the blend of sweet , green, the warmth is also evocative of a forest , I close my eyes- and I’m there! Quite a feat- I live in humid, no forest Florida.
This , of course, is also Christmas!

A very special one. It really has, like the descriptions says, myriad of scents within. A feel-good provoking journey in itself.
Greeted with warm, comforting, resinous and abies-woody goodness that occasionally invokes the sensation of campfire, you are faced with balsamic sweetness, forest fruits and dark berries marmalade and then left to explore other hidden jewels on the way – and there’s plenty. Just wow, really.

Another beautiful oil that i don’t understand how easily this fir balsam has the amazing fruity qualities that project’s from the first sniff..sweet fruity rasberry dark cherry filled chocolate surrounded in a rich resinous forest spirit..so mind calming and soothing and excellent tool for creating men’s colognes but experiment also with fruity notes to expand its hidden qualities..

The purity and intensity of this liquid green goodness is immediately uplifting. Upon opening the bottle you are instantly transported to the core of a rich, living, breathing fir. It’s such a sweet-filled smell. Christmas is now also on my mind after its unveiling 🙂

The whole secret of this fir is its sweet, yet roughly resinous, bassy bottom.
Bright, sparkling green jam.
A Christmas favourite fir!
Absolutely incredible stuff!!!!

Usually I avoid coniferous extracts, being just traumatised by once ubiquitous, agressively invasive, screechingly harsh, cloying terpentine-abusive car fresheners/ bath foams/floor soaps/cheap barber’s colognes/paint thinners of ‘Fir/Pine forest’ atrocities of mass-market domestic toiletries – which I’d used to despise since my childhood – exactly for not doing a justice to the Nature. So it could take only a marvelously delicious, exquisitely ingratiating, voluminous, rich, polished and naturalistic wonder to change my attitude – and this utterly gorgeous Fir Balsam did just that!
To add to the earlier published raving reviews and the definitive description by Adam, what delights me is the surprisingly sustained lush vivid-fruity (for me appearing as a freshly cooked strawberry confiture) note, that is firmly attached to the sticky sappy yet youthfully fresh resinous-wood core. In fact, all the notes and tonalities are pleasantly present through the entire aromatic timeline of this absolute. No wonder it gives a holographic vibe of a happy festival – and I am glad, positively tickled, to break my long-overdue Firs’ abstinence with this delectable gourmand-worthy balm from a gilded-emerald, twiggy sappy ever-vibrant greenery.
