Linaloe Wood Essential Oil

Adam Michael has this to say “The aroma of linaloe wood is sweet-woody, floral-fresh breezy and a tad green. The aroma is consistent from start to finish and considered by many as a replacer for rosewood aka bois de rose although personally I find linaloe wood is a much more muted aroma in comparison with rosewood and thus a poor alternative.

Instead I find linaloe wood is usful when working on composistions that require the light, delicate, fresh linen touch and it is a material I look for when building candy themed gourmand accords or when I want to highlight specific nuances within vanilla based materials. Clear in colour, produced by steam distilling the wood of old and deliberately damaged trees and it is not uncommon for the fruits from the tree to also be distilled as it bulks up the yield of the essential oil.”
