2nd October at 9.05pm: All orders placed upto the 20th September will be dispatched by tomorrow. All orders received up until the 25th September will be dispatched by 6th October. I will provide dispatch times here, for orders placed from 26th October to 28th October on 6th October. Thanks, Adam : )
September at 5.30pm: First apologies for not writing here yesterday as intended. As I type all orders placed upto the 15th September, will be dispatched by tomorrow with couriers, and orders placed upto the 16th will all leave by Friday 29th. Orders placed on the 17th will leave by Monday 2nd October. And on Monday 2nd October I will provide dispatch times for orders placed on the 18th to the 20th September. So at the moment the lead-time is about 2 weeks from placing your order. Normally what happens is we reopen, many orders come in and then things slow down and we normalise. However in this instance I suspect it won't happen this way. As we close in October (see below) I am seeing regulars buying much more to cover themselves across the period we are closed. Add to this my wholesale work which is now coming in really fast - as I have started sending out the stock reduction list, and therefore I forecast a 2 week lead time all the way to closing. Meaning once we stop taking orders - It's probable I will still need 2 weeks to finish before I can close properly for the year. Therefore if you do want something, plan ahead please and only buy if you can wait as with the utmost respect, I am not letting anyone queue-jump, even if they go on to tell me they haven't seen these updates.
On the subject of the stock reduction list - due to lack of time, I have to create it in two parts. Part one covers aromatics A-K and part two will be sent out on email (to those on the list) on October 6th. Regarding the new releases, they will happen, this I promise but I can't get that job done for this Sunday now. I'll need until mid October to make that happen. If you are interested in the new releases all I can advise is to keep checking back here as I will confirm the release date before, well, releasing the new aromatics! On the subject of Ambergris, it's a really touchy topic for me at the moment and I am going to comment on this in more detail shortly, but note I am rethinking decisions concerning ambergris. Back here with a final update on Friday afternoon. Thanks, Adam : )
22nd September at 4.35pm: A quick progress update. By Monday 25th all orders received up to September 11th will be dispatched. By Friday 29th all orders received up to September 16th will be dispatched. Of course, be assured I will push to get as many orders as possible dispatched. For business clients waiting on a copy of the stock-reduction-list, this will be emailed across to you by Wednesday 27th. I will be taking tomorrow off completely for family time and will be back at work across the early part of Sunday afternoon. Next mini update here will be on Tuesday 26th. Thank you, Adam : )
19th September at 6.55pm: Right, update time. First, I am now working on the orders placed from 1st to 17th September and I think within 7-10 days maximum they will all be dispatched, along with the gifts : ) Next, I am going to release Kerala Indian Sandalwood 1953 E.O by Sunday 1st October, along with Organic Moldovan Pink Rose Musk Otto, 20% White Ambergris Aged tincture and Phenyl Ethyl Alcohol by Fermentation. If I can find the time I will also release another Assami grown Oud (plantation) and a vintage offering of Indian Vetiver E.O and Red Myrrh E.O (sublime profiles) that I have held back for the past year now. Regarding closing for 2023 in October (please read below) I need to kindly put on record that I won't be able to make exceptions for clients - even those who have become friends, and to please keep this in mind and plan ahead should you need something specific from Hermitage. I will write again by the end of the week and thank you very much to everyone for the continued support. Adam : )

Then once all orders are dispatched and delivered, we will close and reopen by mid-January 2024/as soon as the laboratory is finished.

Thank you, Adam : )

Adam Michael has this to say “For many years I have searched in vain to find a natural aromatic that exudes the aroma and love of a true Mediterranean pine forest. This search is now over as without doubt this pine absolute is nothing short of absolutely exquisite. This one material is so intensely aromatic, full-bodied resinous-sweet, deeply rich lovingly warm with the most truly sublime pine-resinous woody aroma throughout. This material showcases with perfection the aromas that swirl around and greet our olfactory senses when walking within a Mediterranean pine forest on a summers day.
The summer heat, the light breeze beneath the trees, air saturated by the resinous aroma and the sonorous chant of cicadas. If you love the natural smells of the Mediterranean then this should feature in your collection, you’ll keep going back to smelling it over and over again.
This solvent extracted material is forest green in colour, of a very thick to solid consistency that requires bain-marie to become pourable.
Pine absolute is the single most important natural material in my opinion for those building a Mediterranean pine forest accord, great for developing herbal bouquets especially those that are rosemary or lavandin rich, improves green accords, acts as an interesting modifier within fougere and lavender accords and injects yummy sappy goodness into wood notes.”
Botanical Name: Pinus sylvestris
Origin: France

Very relaxing and calm feeling sweeping in, when opening the bottle.

This absolute pleases me greatly. It has a lovely clear, jammy sweetness. Like walking in the forest on a brisk day picking wild berries. I just love it. Very green pigmented and sticky but worth it. I use this in a forest accord and it pairs very well with other conifers too.

It is all about coniferous forest to me. Warm bark, green needles, cones exuding the resin, dark sweet berries… Cosy and enveloping scent. Dark green and rather sticky material.

As an south-italian-mediterranean person, I just had to try it. And yes, it does remind me of walking in near-sea pine forest, with woody cortex, green needle but above all a strong pine resin effect. Syrupy, alcoholic. It is a very viscous, near solid material, definitely needs a 50% or even 10% dilution.

This is a beautiful pine absolute. It has a rich deep green scent with slightly soft and smoky undertones.

Pine needle absolute is a relatively new addition to the perfumer’s palette. This fascinating product offers much greater possibilities than the corresponding essential oil. It is at once fresh, balsamic, woody, sweet fruity and slightly spicy, with a nutty, leathery background, the whole reminiscent, in this perfumer’s experience, of the Landes Forest in Gascogne. This material is especially suited to masculine accords, and marries well with citrus, coumarin, marine notes, ambers, etc. Its only disadvantage is its dark green colour, potentially limiting its use in large proportions. Should a decolourised version appear on the market, it would surely achieve widespread popularity.

Wowzer! This is the like the green version of fir balsam absolute, the colour is amazing and vibrant ywt does not strain the skin below 10% dilution. If you thought pine was just for bathroom cleaning products then think again! This is like the smell of a sauna but better, fruity, smooth and sweet.

I am a huge fan of wood, pine and balsam oils. I have usually used balsam fir absolute, but this pine absolute immediately won my heart over! It needs to be gently heated and most likely diluted to use, as it is extremely thick. Evaluating at 10% dilution, it is a stunning and almost unbelievable emerald green, fewer smokey facets than balsam fir abs. and more jammy bright green/fresh needle facets. It’s photorealistic and divine. I’ve been so cooped up during this pandemic, this is the first bottle I reach for when I need a little “nature escape”.

A delicious green syrupy material that I cant get enough of. Difficult to blend with at room temperature so I have this one at 20%. At this concentration its still very rich and oozes class. Blends harmoniously with Cedar & Oakmoss.

Vibrant, green, definitely full-bodied, jammy greatness. Eeeekkk I love this. I’d have to disagree with one of the other reviewers as I absolutely LOVE the color. I think it’s fabulous! A bit sticky as it’s quite resinous and will need to dilute, but such a divine pine! 100% the finest I’ve ever smelled! TY ily <3

Pine absolute is very calming. even thought is a bit thick it is very easy to work with. After dilution the liquid becomes emerald color.

One of those startk examples when essential oil and Absolute of the same plant are entirely differnet creatures – I never loved in any particularity any of Pine essential oils (including terpentine – which is from the ancient Greek word for Pine, ‘Terebinthe’), finding them flat, dull and ‘chemical’. But seeing for the first time this absolute at Hermitageoils, I got intrigued, and with the first breath-in it instantly became one of my most praised aromatic treasures, to the point that I don’t know how I lived without it before;
It is a perfect perfume beast of ingredient, with most coveted quality in green notes – to be tenacious – not to fade in the fleeting opening cloud, but to stay through time through the heart and wishfully to the base of perfume. Due to its astounding resinous density, this Pine Absolute brings fresh, vibrant summer forest – down into heavy dark bases like incenses, Vetiver, Cedar or Patchouli.
And what forest!- I’ve experienced a three dimentional fragrant transportation to one of my favorite life spots – early summer on Cote D’Azur, biking above the sea on Corniche D’Or through Massif de l’Esterel, and then on the edge cliff above the Mediterranean to stop and breath in a Sun-drenched, cicadas’ orchestrated, sea-aerated Maritime forest of Pines – with bark bits and sap drops, fresh sticky needles that I crumble with my fingers, and dry needles on warm pink terracota earth of Esterel… Blue Green Heaven in golden light 🙂

Viscous, green, resinous material.
But, it’s incredible!!! It feels like holding a small, green cone. I just found one in the forest in Sintra.
A precise hit of pine without the tedious camphor. With a jammy pallet.
It’s perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hugs, Medea and Anton.
