July 6th: UNITED KINGDOM CUSTOMERS ONLY: As I type I am off work, however I realise this message needs to be written. Yesterday our courier agent informed us that UPS has vastly increased the price of the UK saver service to the point its now more expensive than using the express service. As such we have now been switched to the express service and as a result, the shipping price for UK customers has now increased from 19.99 to 38.99. I am extremely sorry about this but there is nothing I can do in this instance. Please note as well that this is a cost price, we do not make profits at all on shipping costs.
July 5th: Hello World, Adam Michael here. Just a quick message to say that all orders received up to 17.10pm Italy time will leave with the couriers tomorrow. We are now going to take some time off work as we really need a rest. As such, orders we may now receive will be sent from Tuesday 12th July. Please kindly note from now until our return we will not be responding to emails. Thank you, Adam : )

Adam Michael has this to say “Narcissus absolute (des plaines) is a floral seductive masterpiece. The aroma exudes warm, heady floral goodness with delicately charged spiced fruit punch notes entwined with a splash of green crushed foliage. This is followed by delicate floral notes infused with soft cotton, honey, nuts and sweet peaches.
This narcissus absolute is dreamy dark orange in colour, of a pourable viscosity and produced by solvent extracting the concrete that is produced from the wild flowers. This floral wonder is useful for building orange blossom blends, gourmand creations, blends well with carnation, jasmines and mimosa.”
Botanical Name: Narcissus poeticus
Origin: France

Really beautiful absolute with an intense golden colour reflecting the corona of the flower. One would love to use this material in copious amounts if price were no object, but as Adam says it is also a useful modifier for other blends. I would say it is not a million miles from Linden Blossom CO2, another favourite of mine which brings to mind a field full of buttercups and is the basis for Tilleul d’Orsay, a much underrated French fine fragrance. Narcissus absolute des plaines from the top Grasse producers is justly revered by perfumers.

Another gem from Hermitage. A jewel. I have three bottles. One to save in the freezer, in case Hermitage stops carrying this. One to use in blends, and one just to smell when I need a bit of sunshine. Extra-ordinary, both in color and scent profile. A golden ray of sunlight to the senses.

In China, Narcissus are planted before the Spring Festival. It is a good day for the Spring Festival to open. I seem to smell the smell of the New Year.

This is an intriguing, pretty oil that upon first smell doesn’t jump out as being particularly powerful but surprisingly holds its own in a composition when dosed correctly. I get slight Pink Lotus vibes as well as waxy Crayola crayons, neither of which has been mentioned in any descriptors I’ve read about it, so that could just be me. Either way, whilst this doesn’t reach the status of narcotic, it is still a highly elegant, green leafy floral that’s definitely worth having in your collection.

A lovely oil indeed. As Adam points out it is not quite in the same league as the Co2 gold version. Though it is still an amazing oil. I love wearing a little of this oil as a perfume in it’s own right.
