Adam Michael has this to say “To my nose the current batch is sea breeze fresh, green, with a subtle grass pepperiness one associates with a true quality olive. The colour of this solvent extracted olive absolute masterpiece is luscious grass green, of a pourable viscosity and good tenacity. In perfumery strengthens and modernises green notes, blends surprisingly well with seaweed absolute (colourless) and lends itself well to the creation of natural marine notes.”
Joseph Colbourne has this to say “With a translucent gold hue and moderate, pourable viscosity, olive absolute captures the fresh, peppery, briny aroma of olives. A humid, balmy, oily opening with mild notes of blue cheese soon develops into the cooler, refined aroma of a Mediterranean breeze. This is one of those rare materials that captures greenness without necessarily evoking grass or leaves. It is rather the greenness of sumptuous unripened olives with hints of green apple and pear. Olive fruity absolute has great longevity, lasting up to ten hours on the tester strip, and is recommended for use in marine accords, green blends (paired with galbanum), and to contrast with heavy florals.”

Do not be fooled by the potential gourmand suggestion of Olive Fruity. It does have an appetite-inducing quality, however, the green foliage, the late summer scents and the Italian holiday dimension of Olive Fruity makes it ping.

Another very original yet understated treasure fragrance – powerful atmospheric melody of Mediterranean lanscapes, with warm tonalities of dry earth in Olive groves, wool, beeswax, toasted bread, nuances of papirus and cosy scent of sun-kissed human skin. As it ages the Olive connection becomes more obvious. I find it an important note for Velvet accords – imitating the scent of human skin on happy vacations.

Funnily enough, I just got done reviewing the Azerb Rose Otto, and opened the cap again only to find out it was Olive Fruity Absolute!
I can confidently say that is shares many of the same qualities of rose otto in terms of the slight zestiness reminiscent of citral, and then it draws you closer showing you a deeper side like I’m getting literal Blue Lotus Absolute vibes from this material for its sour nature. This all just from smelling the bottle! Putting it on skin, its just a combination of Rose ottos, blue lotus, and it has this gentle barn quality of it that makes me reminded of my grandparents farm, like there is a slight cheesy smell to it. This honestly is one of the best oud enhancer materials there is!! Take a Thai oud and just make babies with this thing, honestly I never knew this material existed before.
Yes this indeed does blend well with seaweed absolute, I have some red seaweed absolute from Grasse (absolutely the finest there is) Iodine and slight salt note that absolutely compliments an olive. you’re in high humidity like myself, it just floats irredescentily right off the skin during some lazy summer days. It is very dry indeed, Waxy and even bread as Kai pointed out (thats just because olive oil goes so well on bread!)
It dries down so well and earthy, It goes well with Marine like Onycha tincture or Choyah Nahk for its super dry amber smoky smell. Mhm this material even has some dry paper smell like cypriol WOW! Adam and his team struck the home run again with this one!!
