23rd April at 4.10pm: Unfortunately, regarding the message below and lead-times, I called it wrong. My apologies. As such all orders placed upto the 15th - and about half of those placed on the 16th, will leave by Friday 26th. On Thursday no collections are possible by couriers as it's a national holiday here in Italy. On the subject of SDS, the company handling this for us, has written to me today, acknowledged more are owed to us (submitted in December and January) and that they are now working on producing the final lot of SDS for us. This includes Plantation, Wild and Jungle ouds that many of you ask about. Next, I have spent the past year (literally) sampling ambrette seed e.o and absolutes from various producers and resellers to no avail. They all smell really poor compared to what I carried. They are too nutty, too fatty, too vegetative, too lacklustre, falling away very fast, and really dont showcase the musky textured qualities of a top ambrette properly. Even the big naturals brands are all obtaining and selling sucky poor man's ambrette at the moment. Written as I have decided to move over to carrying ambrette CO2 and this will be in place until I can find a wow absolute and E.O again. CO2 is still not on par with what I had, but it offers a far better profile on the musky front than the abs and e.os in the market place right now. This CO2 will be in stock by early May. Next, we will put all the non.eu destinations we can supply to, back on our website on May 6th - so U.A.E, UK, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Australia. On the new product front, the next batch of 10 superstars will be released on the 20th May - lots more roses planned. And I will get started on expanding the bulk wholesale side of the business very soon - more aromatics and offered in larger weights as standard - likely upto a kilo on the website. Ok I will write again by Monday. Thank you, Adam : )
19th April at 5pm: Quick update to first say I have now added the following big ticket aromatics to the website: Italian Oakwood Absolute, Organic Georgian Rose Raduga Otto and finally Persian P.E.A Intense Rose (Otto). Orders, as I type with exception to 3 orders, every order placed up until the 11th has left with the couriers. By Monday 22nd, all orders placed up until the 14th will leave with couriers and I will type again across Monday with another update. Bulk Wholesale orders that still need to be manually typed and billed will be done so by Tuesday 23rd. Thank you, Adam : )
15th April at 5.30pm: Today I am running behind but I am happy to say that along with all E.U countries, we now can supply to the USA again. USA switched on just now and the Mysore Sandalwood 4 year aged E.O offer is extended for a week for USA clients to enjoy too. By Wednesday 17th all orders from the 9th April will be dispatched with DHL. Although we are rather full-on with orders at the moment, the lead time will improve significantly very shortly. Reason being since reopening the focus has been solely on building stocks up and we have staff coming on as well now (at last!). I will write again on Wednesday regarding lead times. This week my tasks are to get on top of the SDS we are owed by the company we have employed to handle this. And other than this I am adamant I will update the bulk wholesale list with more aromatics. Finally for now - the following 11 aromatics have recently been added to the site - French Rose Geranium E.O, Sandalwood Mysore E.O 4 Year Aged, Tuscan Olive Leaf Absolute, Mitti Attar (Petrichor), Persian Queen of Roses (Otto), Tomato Leaf Absolute, Oud Assami Skank E.O V.1, South Indian 10 Year Aged Vetiver E.O, Bengali Nagarmotha E.O, VIolet Leaf Concrete, Italian Helichrysum Absolute S.G. Thank you, Adam : )
Adam Michael has this to say “As I type on the 8th May 2022 this is a two and a half year aged plantation oud from the province of Trat in Thailand. I regard this as a classic intro-level Thai plantation offering, comparable to our Prachin and Thai Royal offerings. Like the two ouds mentioned, this is mega concentrated and in this instance opens in a spicy through to borderline chilli spiced fashion with the usual heavy cresole and dark wood tonalities, finishing with fiery shades of tanned leather.
Once we approach the hour mark on the strip, the dark woody and leather aspects intensify further, the cresole softens off ever so slightly and gives way for the early detection of a more prominent sugary sweetness, sticky ripe fruits and liquorice candy traces. Despite all these aromas feeling very obvious of a classic cost-effective Trat oud, I think the spiced character is sufficient to create a unique experience (with regards to what we have in our collection) as the aroma actually takes me back to Malaysian night markets, smells of charred wood, spiced foods, slurping super sweet slush puppy style drinks, the aromas of the people, the night air, it’s all somehow encapsulated within this scent profile and again I suspect it is due to how this spiced quality interacts with all other components.
Next, after the two hour mark and not exceeding the six hour mark, I encounter a note profile that made me greatly question my sanity. You see every so often during this time frame I find the routine profile morphs momentarily from dark wood and tanned leather power into a dry woody sweet powdery form comparable to children’s plasticine and Iris pallida butter/e.o. This is again a fleeting experience but such that I have held this release back by over 6 months (in my possession since November 2021) so I could sporadically re-evaluate to be as sure as I can be of this note profile. Sure enough I pick it out every single time, it starts with me sensing something vanillic plasticine (think vanilla Tahitian and pompona) and very cold orientated, and then sure enough I think I am smelling Iris pallida. Maybe I am insane as Eleonora is not spotting this, but I would be curious to know if anyone who does try this, also picks out this fleeting aroma profile.
Beyond this though, normal service resumes and the aroma is still detectable on my skin type at just over 9 hours and present on the strip for approaching a week. From the 5 hour mark onwards this aroma profile becomes a straightforward sticky fruity dark woods profile with some foody-aspects throughout.
Gloopy dark-red to red-black subject to volume and a must for those wanting real oud in their compositions at a cost-effective price.”

I bought this oud not knowing what to expect, though I tried the Laos offering before I have little oud “experience”. Again, I was surprised, so strange… and then I was mesmerized! So delightful, so strange to my nose yet so comforting. I diluted three drops into 10 ml grain alcohol and it’s a great and strong perfume on its own or combined with other one-notes, I am absolutely smitten with the scent now, though weird and “skanky” at first, I now know what is meant by that word. Even though I don’t like the word, I LOVE this oil and yes, it’s different from the Thai Empress oud I ordered as well in that it has a strength or depth that’s more manly, dirty almost, but in such a weird and wonderful way I am in love. The Thai Empress smells like incense was said in its description and I understand, it is “clean” and could be a base for women’s perfume while this is more male in my opinion. This has some edge that is described on this site as “horse” or “decaying jungle”, and even though that at first threw me off I love it now. I love both and am happy to slowly be discovering the world of oud. The quality/strength of the oils are unmatched and I understand the age-old “hype” now. Thank you hermitage oils for making that possible 🙂

I don’t know how I could have missed writing a review for this crazy oud. I was in a fog, apparently..:)..So – king, emperor, monarch, president. I just love him. I love her sweetness, grace, gentleness and yet such tremendous strength. Special material at a fantastic price, for which, Adam, thank you very much. There’s no need to reinvent the wheel to prove something to myself – it’s in this agarwood. For me – it has everything an oud needs to have. And his stamina..oh! Divine!!
