Skip to contentAdam Michael has this to say “This blue hemlock absolute is bursting with a plethora of fruit rich, fruit plump, mouth-watering, juicy berry goodness, sprinkled with ambery and zappy resinous woody qualities.
The heart and base notes are alive with a sticky fruit and piercing woody needle cocktail with faint fleeting tea notes dancing in and out of detection. This material is an aromatic marathon, a great study material and I highly recommend this material for building forest berry accords, juicy gourmands, improving woody oriental notes and heavy fruit florals. Useful material for improving top notes of pine accords, enriching the heart of ambery bases and adding juicyness to citrus blends. Works especially well with davana, patchouli materials and with our blackcurrant liquid. This material is classed as colourless.”

One of my all time favourite scents. So unique in it’s profile and oozes a super fragrant, medicinal forest aroma. Notes of pink pepper, black pine sap, fresh moss, cough syrup, and fresh cut bark. A stunning array of notes and something totally different.

This is one of my favourite evergreens. It has a peppery richness that is warming and grounding. I agree with Abdullah, there is something medicinal and cough-syrupy. In addition, it briefly reminds me of varnish or stained wood, but its main feature is a stunning balsamic base that is sweet and spicy. It blends really well with anise and citrus top-notes.

Versatile but also “stand alone” we find Blue Hemlock to be a master of disguise. It can go from being the peppery, mossy odour as described above, to a gentle but tart fruitiness in so many blends. I love to pick Blue Hemlock out of the oils box just to remind myself of the sustained pleasure it gives to the olfactory system.

Blue hemlock absolute is pure magic. I didn’t meet a person yet who would not like its aroma. Its a mix of berrie and green woods. Very very balancing

I had to go check my oil- must be a different lot!
This is one of my favorites of all time-
Out of the bottle it is a green balsamic with a smoky tinge
On the strip lots of sweetness, the tree is subdued at first, the sweetness is pure tree sap sugar
As it fades balsamic layers in with the sweetness, and a vague smokiness plays in and out- I get hints of orange, and deep red fruit at the bottom.
In formula( 1 formula) it enhances sweet, and can be encouraged to show a little smoky- the balsamic tree will show up late in the game
