25th March at 13.10pm: Apologies but my health has gone backwards rapidly in the past few days. After a conversation with Eleonora, at this moment running Hermitage is too much for us. Therefore the countries have all been temporarily removed and no orders can be placed. Please note orders received upto the time of this message will all be dispatched by today. Earlier messages now deleted from the orange banner but note I hope by mid to late next week I can get involved again with the business and reopen the website to E.U countries. New product releases, I have written content for five new aromatics and the plan was, and still is, to get to ten, and release them all in one lot. This will happen across early April. At the sametime the lab is finished, we have set up and we will get staff employed. Written as my own objective this year for the business remains the same, that being to end the stop start and get Hermitage in a position whereby it continues to flourish with or without my daily involvement. Thank you, Adam : | PS - We will reply to emails we may receive upon our return.

Mark Evans has this to say “Methyl N Methylanthranilate natural isolate is also known as dimethyl anthranilate which normally has a sweet, artificial grape, port-wine scent. This all-natural isolate obtained from petitgrain, however, at first smells of blackened, grape flavoured citrus peel! The first few minutes is really unusual and quite fascinating. After a short while Methyl N Methylanthranilate natural isolate settles down to sweet grape, fruity, musty, orange blossom, powdery, port-wine scent that dimethyl anthranilate is known for with just a little of the smokiness remaining in there in the background.
Those of you with some fragrance chemical knowledge will be aware that Methyl N Methylanthranilate is useful to use in place of methyl anthranilate to prevent the reaction between MA and aldehydes that results in un-wanted Schiff’s Bases in your formula.”
Extracted from Petitgrain reticulata Blanco essential oil.

First, second and third whiff smell kind of like Wintergreen to me. This pungence is present throughout, but mellows a bit as time passes and evolves to a slightly artificial and not overly sweet grape mixed with mostly unindentifiable peel of citruses with a hint of a mandarine rind. After a while the orange blossom emerges, enveloped in the wintergreen-resembling fading bitter spiciness. Quite interesting, but not really to my liking – hence just 4 stars.

This is very beautiful. It reminds my my great grandma’s old stone barn on a rainy day and fermented grape juice she kept in it. Boozy sparkles of grapes in aged wood, slightly medicinal, dry herbs in humid air.
